Registration Costs for 2022
As in the past, lodging costs are split into a separate payment from all other registration costs. This allows people to split room costs between the friends they're staying with (like a normal convention hotel situation) while paying all of the individual costs on their own. The per-person charge is made up of different items that go to both us and Forrest Hills. This page will break those down so you can see what is going where.
The current estimate for AFK 2022 Registration Cost is $245.44 per person.
It will be finalized in the next couple of weeks before we take payment, but shouldn't change too much. To see what all goes into that number, read on.
Sparkworld LLC is a Domestic Limited Liability Company (control number 18123832) formed in Georgia that we created to run the event and process payments. Forrest Hills is the resort property. Stripe is the credit card processor. We collect taxes on our portions that we will ultimately give to the government. We write a giant check on day 1 of the event to Forrest Hills for the parts that go to them.

New costs for this year include:
- Saturday breakfast and Sunday brunch. We decided (with lots of feedback from attendees) that we could do better with these meals than our previous Forrest Hills experiences. So we negotiated them out of our contract. The compromise was we had to take a single lunch on Saturday.
- Event Operations increased by $10.
- We are now collecting tax and credit card processing fees. We just ate that in the past. (Mostly because Courtney didn't think about it when he set the pricing. Bleh x.x)
We hope this view into the cost structure gives you a better sense of where your money is going. We work hard to put on an event that you'll find valuable for what you're paying, and we know it's not cheap.
