Board Games

This is the original bread-and-butter of AFK. The hosts bring a sizable number of games to kick-start the weekend's library shelves, but attendees bringing their own games makes up a large portion of what's on offer. You'll find board games and card games of all sorts going on morning, noon, and into the wee hours of the night. Finding people who enjoyed this activity as much as we do got GamingDays:AFK started, and it still plays the largest part. So toss your favorite title into your travel bag - you're almost certain to find a willing group of players. 

 

Video Games

Newly-expanded in 2022, the video game lounge continues to grow. Several TVs with consoles, a retro-games cocktail table, and maybe some networked computers if we can get our hands on them. The Mario Kart time trial tournament will be back, and we're also planning a Smash Bros. tournament. 

 

 

Team and Music Trivia

Team Trivia returns with Brian and Courtney hosting the standard 6-round, 3-questions-per-round format. And yes, the host's answers are final no matter what your Google search may turn up. :) Icefang is also returning this year with his Jeopardy-style music trivia game with all new content. This was tons of fun last time, so don't miss out if you have music on the brain. 

 

House Points Competition

House points are returning to AFK this year, and you'll be able to participate in a wide range of games and events to earn prestige and prizes for the members of your house! Sharks are banned forever, though...

 

Role-Playing Games

Attendee volunteers will be running one-shot adventures for intrepid would-be heroes. A variety of systems (5e, Paranoia) as and settings (Eberron, others) have been offered in the past. Look out for signups. 

 

 

Karaoke!

We'll fire up the karaoke setup nightly so you can get your sing on. Rumor has it this will be very nearby the bar for reasons. 

 

 

 

Hiking

Weather permitting, we'll take in some of the North Georgia natural beauty and go hiking on a nearby trail. A chance to get up from the gaming table and stretch those legs.
